Power Suits Gallery Talk by Cyndi Souder

Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 3:00pm

Del Ray Artisans is excited to be showing, throughout the month of March, a portion of the Power Suits art quilts collection in conjunction with the Power Art exhibit. You are invited to join collection curator Cyndi Souder for a gallery talk and conversation about how the project started, where it has been and where it is going in 2013.

In 2010 nationally recognized local artists Cyndi Souder and Judy Gula issued an open invitation for a fabric interpretation of the theme: Power Suits. Over 100 artists accepted the invitation; each creating a unique 18"x18" work of art using suit and shirt fabric donated by a tailor. Power Suits has been exhibited across the United States at major art and quilt events for the past year and the tour will continue through 2013.

This is only the second time Power Suits has been on display in the DC area. During her talk Cyndi will point out some of the techniques used and discuss the motivation behind some of the unique interpretations.

The event is free, but a donation to Del Ray Artisans of $5 is suggested. For more information or questions contact Barb Boatman at:
